HOME SCHOOLING COMPLIANCE
Al Fikr tuition provides workshops, educational programs home-schooling support and is not a school, hence, it is the parent’s responsibility to register their child(ren) (of legal age) for home-schooling and accept to take on the responsibilities to accomplish the requirements and objectives set out by NESA and the Department of Education, whether that be completing Outcomes, compiling Portfolios or otherwise.
All students enrolled in Al Fikr must be registered home schoolers.
PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY
Parents must partake in their child’s education by working with their child through their textbooks at home and to do so in the required hours for each subject per week. They must do so for their child to qualify as a ‘home-schooledstudent’ by Australian Education Standards
Parents must ensure that their child revises the work completed in class and completes the weekly homeworkwhichisset by the teacher on time, and to meet the minimum attendance and engagement requirements requiredper subject.
Parents must ensure they purchase all the required material on their child’s assigned booklist. We do not provideanyphotocopies of materials as a substitute for purchasing the
REGISTRATION & TERMLY FEES
A one-off non-refundable registration fee of $35 is payable upon registering any student
Term fees are to be paid within the first fortnight of each term. We give the option of paying either a Full or Half term payment. Fees include any absence from class due to illness or emergency cases etc, as work is already prepared for all students. Students can make-up absences if they bring a Doctors Certificate for illnesses or letter from the parents for an emergency case(not for any other reason). If the student wishes to make up a missed class it must be done by appointment only, contact Al-Fikr Tuition to arrange.
Any fees not paid by End of Term will automatically un-register the student from the following term. The student will notbeallowed to attend any classes until fees are paid. Furthermore, end of Year Reports and exam results will not bereleaseduntilterm fees are finalised.
If there are financial difficulties which affect the ability to fulfill the payment of any due fees the parent/guardianmust contactAl-Fikr Tuition management to discuss further.
2 WEEK TRIAL & ASSESSMENT
All Al-Fikr students are subject a two-week trial period (weekly Group Tuition fees apply);
Parents must provide School Academic and Behaviour report and other supporting documentation as requested..
Assessment & Feedback
Al-Fikr Tuition will assess the student’s suitability for the classroom
environment and behaviour. Al- Fikr Tuition will provide feedback on the student’s performance and suitability.
Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in termination of the trial
period at the tutor’s discretion.
• Enrolment after the trial period is subject to the Al-Fikr Tuition approval.
• If student is deemed not suitable for Group Tuition, he may attend private
lesson subject to student behaviour.
No Obligation for Full Enrolment
• The trial period does not guarantee automatic enrolment in the full tuition
program.
• If either party finds the class unsuitable, they may discontinue after the trial
period with no obligation.
2 week Group Tuition fees are payable at the start of the 2 week period.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance and punctuality are essential. If a child is unable to attend, the parent or guardian is expected to inform the teacher within no sooner than 1 hour of start of their class. You must also ensure that the child completes the homework set in the respective Telegroup Group Chat for that week which is assigned by their teacher. If a student is absent for more than2weekswithout having informed the teacher/principal, their enrolment will be withheld and must re-register, and pay the registration fee to resume their enrolment. Please note fees are still payable for the period of uninformed fortnightly absence.
DISCONTINUATION OF TUITION
Parent/Guardian MUST provide 14 Day Notice of their decision to discontinue their enrolment at Al-Fikr Tuition. Thismustbecommunicated to Al-0Fikr Tuition via email to [email protected] or an SMS/WhatsApp message to 0409500907. Itisalso required to include the full name and grade of the student who will be unenrolling. When the email/SMS has been received by us, you will be sent a discontinuation form to compete. Pleasenotethatdiscontinuation will not be effective until the discontinuation form is completed and received by Al-Fikr Tuition. Feeswillcontinue to apply until this is done. Students remain welcome to attend class until the end of the agreed enrolment period.
BEHAVIOR & DISCIPLINE
All students are expected to show respect to all teachers, staff and fellow students at Al-Fikr Tuition. Any negative behaviourwillnot be tolerated at any time. Should a student misbehave during class the following discipline process will be applied: 1. A verbal warning will be given to the student and parents will be informed of it. 2. A Second warning will result in suspension from Al-Fikr Tuition, 3. A third warning will be cause for an immediate Expulsion
VALUABLES LOST OR DAMAGED BY OTHER STUDENTS
Students are strongly discouraged from bringing valuables (such as money, jewellery, expensive electronics, or sentimental items) to school unless absolutely necessary.
*The school does not accept responsibility for valuables that are lost, stolen, or damaged while at school or during school-related activities.
In cases where a student’s property is damaged or lost due to the actions of another student, the matter will be treated as a behavioural/disciplinary issue rather than a financial liability of the school*
Parents of the student responsible may be contacted, and the school may facilitate discussion regarding restitution or repair, but the school itself will not provide reimbursement.
Reporting
Students must report the loss or damage immediately to their teacher or supervising staff member.
A written incident record will be made.
Investigation
The school will investigate the incident in line with its behaviour management and discipline policies.
Resolution
Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken if a student is found responsible.
Parents of both parties will be informed.
Restitution, if appropriate, will be discussed directly between families.
Responsibilities
Students: Take care of personal property, avoid bringing unnecessary valuables, and report incidents promptly.
Parents: Ensure children are aware of the risks and avoid sending valuables to school.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
Parents/guardians must ensure that they drop off and pick up their children on time. If children are not picked upwithin 15 minutes of finishing their class, late fees will apply.
