We will have a Telegram group called Al-Fikr Tuition marketplace for any parents who wish to buy or sell new or used educational items like textbooks, educational resources, educational furniture like desks and chairs, etc. This will be strictly monitored and nothing except educational items or homeschooling resources can be advertised.

PARENT-LED LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM

What is this program?

This program is designed based on a give and take initiative. It provides the opportunity for students to continuously engage in various life skill workshops that is led by the parents of Al-Fikr, thus strengthening the Al-Fikr community amongst parents and students.

How will it work?

This program requires parents to contribute merely once a year and teach a life skill of choice to their age group and gender of choice. This program does NOT require parents to be a professional at ANYTHING. It merely requires basic skills in any topic, even as basic as chopping skills for cooking or basic sewing skills for patching a rip or even how to wash a car. The whole purpose of this program is to teach basic life skills for various different circumstances. With parents contributing once a year, your child will be able to participate in weekly or fortnightly life skill workshops and develop vast sets of skills by the end of each year.

Will I need to pay?

No! The whole purpose of this give and take program is that parents volunteer once a year and in doing so their child is given the opportunity to continuously join the workshops without having to pay anything. Students may occasionally need to bring things from home but any extra Expenses for the workshops will be covered by Al-Fikr.

All volunteers must hold a Working with Children Check.
